ICO Fines Equifax £500K After 2017 Breach

The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) has issued the maximum fine possible to Equifax in response to failings which led to a major 2017 breach. The £500,000 penalty is only the second time the UK privacy watchdog has used the full extent of its powers and comes after a major incident at the credit agency exposed data on 15 million UK customers.
