Colic is the primary cause of death in horses, and according to NIGHTWATCH, the “AAEP (American Association of Equine Practitioners) estimates that more than 900,000 horses in the U.S. will experience an episode of colic each year.” That is an astounding number, but if found early, colic is easily treatable in the majority of horses and more importantly, is survivable.
