Canary has been steadily upgrading its line of security cameras with new features like two-way talk and person detection, among other things by way of software updates. Today, it’s preparing to do so again with its announcement of another A.I.-powered activity detection feature called Package Detection, as well as a skill for Amazon Alexa. The Alex integration allows you to stream video from your Canary to your Echo Spot, Echo Show, Fire TV or Fire TV Stick just by speaking.

The new Package Detection feature uses the same A.I. and machine learning technologies that power the earlier Person Detection feature introduced back in December. But this time, the technologies are being used to alert users as to when a package has arrived on their doorstep.
