The number of active ransomware gangs have risen 56% year-on-year in H1 2024, according to a new Searchlight Cyber report. The researchers observed 73 ransomware groups in operation in H1 2024 compared to 46 in H1 2023, emphasizing the growing fragmentation of the ransomware landscape.
