The arrest of Telegram CEO Pavel Durov in France over the weekend sparked a series of cyberattacks against French websites by hacktivists protesting Durov’s detention. French authorities said Durov’s arrest was related to Telegram’s lack of moderation and failure to cooperate with law enforcement agencies, which they said enabled crimes such as drug trafficking, distribution of child sexual abuse material and fraud, the BBC reported.
