Residential proxies are a nightmare on the horizon – and the problem will only get worse

Since the advent of the internet, there have always been bad actors trying to game the system. It started in the late 1990s when the music and movie industries found themselves under attack by the rise of BitTorrent sites such as Napster, which facilitated the peer-to-peer unauthorized sharing of copyrighted music on a massive scale.
