Researchers uncover unfixable vulnerability in Apple CPUs affecting cryptographic security

A newly published paper from researchers has detailed an unpatchable vulnerability in Apple Inc.’s M series of chips that allows attackers to extract secret keys used in cryptography operations. Dubbed GoFetch, the vulnerability can be exploited by a side-channel attack –  an attack that exploits indirect information to uncover secret data, such as cryptographic keys.
