Communications regulator Ofcom faces multiple challenges in making the UK the ‘safest place in the world to be online’

The legislation is controversial, with proponents hoping that it will lead to a safer environment for children that are consistently exposed to harms online, whilst detractors argue that it is unworkable and fear that it could open the floodgates for the government to insert workarounds to encryption.
