TechCrunch reports that threat actors were able to exfiltrate almost $2 billion worth of cryptocurrency from various cyberattacks and heists this year. Despite being the lowest recorded cryptocurrency theft since 2020, such figures indicate the persistence of decentralized finance vulnerabilities and challenges, according to a report from web3 security firm De.Fi.
