The recent news of attacks by Iranian threat actors on the Municipal Water Authority of Aliquippa in Pennsylvania and other similar attacks brings to light important issues around protecting critical infrastructure in the United States: Our model in this country, where many of our utilities and infrastructure facilities are funded and managed at a local level, poses a significant threat to the security of the nation when it comes to cyber defense, elections, and other digital crimes.
