Europol sheds more light on Ragnar Locker ransomware disruption

Officials at Europol have confirmed that the Ragnar Locker ransomware group’s infrastructure has been dismantled alongside the arrest of a primary target working as a developer for the ransomware gang as part of an international ransomware crackdown by law enforcement and judicial authorities across 11 countries, including the U.S., reports The Record, a news site by cybersecurity firm Recorded Future. Numerous hacking, extortion, and money laundering charges have been filed against the developer of Ragnar Locker, which has been targeting major critical infrastructure organizations in double extortion attacks since 2020.
