The Dark.IoT botnet is a variant based on the Mirai botnet that first surfaced in August 2021 and has since expanded its target beyond IoT devices. In a recent report, FortiGuard Labs uncovered a concerning rise in Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) botnets exploiting the Zyxel vulnerability (CVE-2023-28771).
