A new report today from cybersecurity recruit firm Pinpoint Search Group finds that venture capital funding of cybersecurity startups plummeted 55% in the second quarter of this year from a year ago. Pinpoint tracked 115 funding and merger and acquisition transactions in the cybersecurity sector in the second quarter, with the total coming in at $1.9 billion, down from $4.3 billion in the second quarter of 2022.
