The threats posed by the malicious use of generative AI tools, particularly large language model-based (LLM) chatbots, have pushed various governments to take action. The EU and Canada are working on legislation to regulate AI practices, respectively the Data & AI Act and the EU AI Act, while the UK and the US put their effort into working hand in hand with AI developers and have yet to announce any binding regulation.
