More Toyota customers’ data exposed in years-long breaches

Toyota has confirmed new incidents of customer data exposure stemming from misconfigurations in their cloud systems just two weeks after disclosing a decade-long data breach impacting more than two million customers, TechCrunch reports. Some 260,000 Toyota Japan customers with car purchases as early as December 2007 have been noted by the automaker to have their in-vehicle device identifiers and mapping details leaked by a misconfigured connected cloud service from February 2015 to May 2023 following a more extensive investigation into Toyota’s cloud environments.
