Zerobot Adds Brute Force, DDoS to Its IoT Attack Arsenal

A recently discovered botnet that attacks organizations through Internet of things (IoT) vulnerabilities has added brute-forcing and distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack vectors, as well as the ability to exploit new flaws to its growing arsenal, Microsoft security analysts have found. The updates to Zerobot, a malware first observed earlier this month by Fortinet researchers, pave the way for more advanced attacks as the threat continues to evolve, according to the Microsoft Security Threat Intelligence Center (MSTIC).
