Police in the US state of New Mexico are crediting a smarthome device with saving the life of a woman and her daughter who were being held captive by a man who unintentionally told the device to call the sheriff. According to ABC News, a crisis team – including a SWAT team – were sent to the house and managed to take the man into custody after an hours-long standoff.
