Tetrate: A Service Mesh Can Be the Security Kernel for Distributed Systems

If you are going to use a service mesh to manage a set of microservices, you might as well start thinking of the service mesh as the “security kernel” for these distributed systems, suggested Tetrate Senior Engineer Zack Butcher, during a virtual conference on Zero Trust Security held by the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and Tetrate, a purveyor of an Istio-based premium service mesh.
