Researchers have discovered over 760 malicious Ruby packages (aka “gems”) typosquatting on RubyGems, the Ruby community’s gem repository / hosting service. The discovery ReversingLabs analysts wanted to see how widespread the practice of package typosquatting is within RubyGems.
