Cybersecurity firm founder pleads guilty to organizing a DDoS attack

The founder and previous owner of a cybersecurity firm has confessed in court to hiring hackers to carry out a distributed denial-of-service attack. Tucker Preston, 22 from Macon, GA., the previous owner of BackConnect Inc., a company that claims to be “the new industry standard in DDoS mitigation” pleaded guilty under the terms of a plea agreement to one count of damaging protected computers by transmission of a program, code or command before a court in New Jersey last week.
